USING THE G3WCS (VER 2) REQDIR SERVER WITH F6FBB BBS (VER 5.14D AND LATER)
==========================================================================
This server will allow you to send a message to this BBS and receive a reply
which will list all the textfile directories on a certain disk drive on the
mailbox or alternatively the textfiles available in a specified directory.
You may then send a further request using REQFIL (which is described in the
document REQFIL.DOC) to obtain a copy of the required file which will be
automatically forwarded back to your home BBS.
The message format is as follows:-
Address : SP REQDIR @ GB7$$$
Title : DRIVE:\DIRECTORY\SUB DIRECTORY @ GB7###
Message text : Either /EX or CONTROL Z
The callsign GB7$$$ is that of the mailbox from where you wish the listing
to be obtained.
The directory entry may take a number of different parameters. If you
leave it blank or use wildcard symbols as shown in the following examples :-
@ GB7CHS or
*.* @ GB7CHS or
C:\*.* @ GB7CHS
you will receive a listing of the actual directories, not files, which exist
on the mailbox on disk drive C:. If you wish to obtain a list of files you
must specify a directory name, for example :-
MODS @ GB7CHS or [this will use drive C: as the default]
C:\MODS
D:\NWPUG [this will use drive D:]
In the first example a list of all the files in the directory MODS on drive
C: will be sent to you at GB7CHS, regardless of which mailbox you used to
enter your request. In the second example you would receive the same
listing addressed to you at the mailbox where you entered your request. In
the third example you will receive a list of all files in the NWPUG
directory on drive D:, sent to you at GB7CHS.
In the title line, the @ GB7### is the callsign of the mailbox to which you
wish your reply to be forwarded. This item is optional, if you do not
include it your reply will be returned to the mailbox at which you entered
your request.
Remember that all requests will use disk drive C: as the default unless you
specify otherwise.
